The Brookview Bungalow

The Brookview Bungalow illustrates the spacious porches which added to the bungalow home's allure.

Large porches, massive porch columns, and decorative braces help to identify an authentic bungalow home.

Exposed rafters are another way of identifying a true bungalow.

Most bungalow homes were built with one and one-half floors.  The upper half-floor was used as an extra bedroom or an attic.

Bungalow porches provided ample space for lounging after a long day.  Porch swings were a common fixture, as were stained glass sections in the upper windowpanes.
